Steven A. Fenrick, Principal Consultant

Steve Fenrick is a Principal Consultant and partner of Clearspring Energy Advisors and Clearspring Research. Prior to joining Clearspring, Mr. Fenrick held management and senior economist positions at two consulting firms serving energy utilities. Mr. Fenrick has over seventeen years of progressive experience in the energy industry including research for utilities and regulatory commissions.

Mr. Fenrick has a strong background in economics and econometric analysis pertaining to utilities. He has directed performance benchmarking studies, load management studies and recommendations, helped utilities in fully deploying peak time rebate (PTR) programs, load forecasting studies, market research initiatives, performance-based regulation and TFP studies, and assisted on rate studies.

Mr. Fenrick has provided expert witness testimony regarding his research in the areas of performance-based regulation, performance benchmarking, and peak time rebates. He has given numerous presentations on these and other topics in conference settings, senior management groups, and boards of directors.

Mr. Fenrick has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Agriculture and Applied Economics, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
